Houdini spent the later part of his career debunking clairvoyants. In his opinion, they were essentially doing a magic show, but under the pretense it wasn’t a trick. He also had clairvoyants claim that his mother was crossing-over to chat with him, but with his stage name instead of his given name. Personally and professionally offended, Houdini began to use his extensive knowledge for pulling off tricks to strike out against frauds in the psychic community. He could detect even the smallest movement, a slight of hand didn’t go unnoticed. It had never occurred to me that a man so talented in tricks had to be so sensitive to movement. As I mentally walk through what it would have taken for him to execute his tricks, it makes sense.
