Grandpa's Morning Routine

In yoga teacher training we talked a lot about aging and the importance of staying mobile, which often led me to think of my grandpa John’s morning exercises.

For years, various family members have paid witness to my grandfather grunting numbers while forcefully lifting his legs off the dining room floor. We all giggled, but after completing the exercises myself – I giggle no more. They are HARD.

So cheers grandpa for the years of grunts! Don’t know how you walked up stairs the day after. Not sure I’ll do them again, but I’m glad I tried.
